Lyrics

Sing Along Now!

There was a great big hairy scary ugly ol' monster
And he lived at the end of the street
He had toes all over his face
And he had eyeballs down on his feet

Well he could see right where he was goin' pretty good
But he couldn't see very far
So one day he stepped off of the sidewalk
Right in front of a moving car

Well the driver hit the brakes too late
And he knocked that monster down
There was a bunch of kids playin' in the neighborhood
So they came and they gathered round

Well the crowd caught the eye of a doctor passin' by
So he came to see what was the buzz
And all the kids hollered ... Don't go near him...He's a monster
But the doctor laughed because ... he said,

CHORUS:

It doesn't matter what you look like
It doesn't matter from where you came
It doesn't matter if you're different
I'm gonna help you just the same

Well the monster was okay so he went on his way
To his house at the end of the street
He wrote a letter to his mother
He held a paper and pen with his feet

Well the kids all watched as he took it to the box
From the bushes across the road
And when the mail-lady came to get the mail
All the kids hollered…No No No…But she laughed…She said

Well the tiger jumped in the air but the monster was there
And he jumped up and grabbed him
And he wrestled him down to the ground
First the tiger was on top
And then the monster was on top
And you couldn't tell what was happening at all
'Till all of a sudden the monster started singin' a song
And you know what...It wasn't very long
Before the tiger fell asleep…

And the kids said "Hey Mr. Monster we've been so mean to you
Now how come you saved our lives?"'
And the monster said "Well kids I know what you say is true
And here is the reason why''
